The Epic Era of Aviation

                      OK! Let's get this started! Right here I'm writing to you on this first post on my Blogger account talking about the massive changes in the aviation frontier. We live in an epic era of aviation where AI technology master the whole operation which currently a safe-haven for human. Although these products now under the trial phase, it is a true alert for individuals who involved in such environments, including me, however, it is phenomenal how the diversification of the information and the technology age changed the aviation world. Let me share some of the automation we can encounter OFF WE FLY in the future.
* Laser & sensor guided aerobridges.
                    Set to be rolling out on a large-scale at Schiphol airport, Netherlands by end of 2019. Also the trials underway at Changi airport for automate passenger bridge which directly connects to the aircraft cabin door.
* Automated immigration turnstiles (SMART TUNNEL).
                  The conceptualized process being discussed for the upcoming Changi Terminal 5, Singapore. Although Dubai airport offered the facility on trial basis late 2018.
* Driver-less loading unloading vehicles.
                    Another concept of Changi airport terminal 5, Singapore. Sensor controlled unmanned vehicles collect baggage containers and drop at right carousels while the vise-versa followed on departure flights.
* Face-scan and thumb-scan boarding counters.
                    London Gatwick, for instance, uses facial recognition technology to make sure queue time in security is always below five minutes. It tracks your face at four points on the journey through security, to get real-time feedback on how long it is taking.
* Apron AI or real-time turnaround monitor.
                   Provide real-time AI to monitor the aircraft turnaround progress to identify any potential delays. Same product introduced by Emirates airlines under the subject line call Hub monitor to ensure and improve on-time performance which ultimately leading to a better passenger experience.
* Electro powered push back operator.
                   With proven results by British Airways at London heath row airport, This mototok electric push back devise becoming one of the great recovery methods to reduce delays and not only that, it reduces the ramp congestion due to the movement of heavy trucks from stand to stand.
* Holographic information desks.
                   Quite an old concept that started from Dulles international airport back in 2012 followed by Glasgow and Miami international airport to assist passengers on common instructions and however, the concept improved the awareness and advanced the product to understand the nature of the passenger query and respond in respect to that.
* Prioritize way-finding mobile apps.
                    Orlando international airport has installed more than 1100 sensor beacons across the airport enabling its passengers to explore new wayfinding solutions to help simplify the airport experience. The MCO Android and iOS apps include an indoor mapping function, offering step-by-step directions to a wide selection of amenities in the terminal.
* Virtual shopping walls.
                    With the prime objective where shoppers scan the QR codes on their smartphones to buy luxury goods or groceries. These are already present at Gatwick, New Delhi and Frankfurt, but in the future shopping walls could reach a whole new level, believes Sky scanner, with interactive software allowing passengers "to order food or goods with a wave of their hand or by a simple verbal command".
* Self-pay- excess baggage counters.
To be implemented soon.
* Auto-generated missing baggage reports with an online tracking facility.
To be implemented soon.
The ever increasing technology trend will dominate the world of aviation in order to make a safe and secured travel episode while enjoying the remarkable travel experience from passenger perspective. Yet, still more and more innovative technologies to pass by or under on its way to implement. I wish that every single passenger will witness the Epic Era of Aviation sooner or later.
